DLS - 1/8/19 Daypass - What to Expect in Health Policy After the 2018 Election
John Z. Ayanian In this presentation, Dr. Ayanian will review the controversial history of the Affordable Care Act over the past decade (“Obamacare” and now “Trumpcare”), the role that health care issues played in the 2018 election in Michigan and the nation, and what to expect in health policy from the new Governor and legislature in Michigan and the new Congress in Washington, DC. Dr. Ayanian has served since 2012 as the inaugural Director of the U-M Institute for Healthcare Policy and Innovation, which includes over 500 faculty from 14 U-M schools and colleges, and he is also the Alice Hamilton Professor of Medicine. He previously served as Professor of Medicine and Health Care Policy at Harvard Medical School and the Harvard School of Public Health. He is an elected member of the National Academy of Medicine.
