21 Lessons for the 21st Century **See Note**
What are today’s greatest challenges and most important choices? How do we maintain freedom of choice when Big Data is watching? What will the future workplace look like? Yuval Harari, author of the subject book, who has a unique ability to make sense of where we have come from and where we are going, discusses many pressing issues, including problems associated with liberal democracy, nationalism, immigration, religion, and the educational and economic response to automation. He invites us to consider values, meaning, and personal engagement in a world full of noise and uncertainty by presenting complex contemporary challenges in clear and accessible 21 lessons, whose aims are to stimulate further thinking and help us participate in some major conversations of our time. Instructors: Gail Hubbard and Ron Frisch **Note** For the first class, please read Part I, chapters 1-4, introduction to page 84.
