What Is Time?
Time flies like an arrow. Fruit flies like a banana. -G.M.(?) Does time indeed fly (or flow)? What defines the arrow of time? Why can we remember the
past but not the future? Is time, like space, continually being created? These are some of the questions we'll ponder in this course, based on a Great
Courses series by Laura Helmuth, editor in chief of Scientific American, "Examining the big questions of time". (Spoiler alert: we won't find answers
to these questions.) Craig Stephan is a retired industrial physicist who has led many previous OLLI courses including The End of Time, The Science of
Climate Change, Cosmology, and Paleontology.
