Capturing Energy with (Your) Solar Panels
This interactive presentation will inform participants of how capturing solar energy from the sun can positively impact your life and the planet. The following stories will be told: 1. Icebreaker: How your existing solar panels (your skin) uses solar energy to catalyze beneficial biochemical changes in your body. 2. The economics of solar panel installations - cost of using solar energy versus utility generated electrical power. 3. We will learn about the 26% federal investment tax credit for energy efficiency improvements. 4. Do rooftop or ground mounted solar panels make sense for my home? 5. How to choose and vet a solar installer. 6. Solar programs available through the City of Ann Arbor. 7. Other energy savings projects that homeowners and renters can take advantage of. 8. How an investor model has been used to fund eight solar panel installations on church and non-profit buildings in southeast Michigan, which is applicable to condominiums / homeowner associations. 9. Questions and our path forward.
