Poetry and Place from Blake To Berry: A Poetry WorkshopExplore the rich role of place - from city to sea, garden to wilderness - in the poetry of William Blake, Amy Lowell, Wendell Berry and more, then write your own place-inspired poetry. We will have lively discussions, in-class and take-home writing exercises and optional, supportive in-class critiques of your poems. A course reading packet will be distributed in the first class. Michelle Regalado Deatrick holds an MFA from the University of Michigan; she won the 2012 Chautauqua Poetry Award and two Hopwood Awards; and she loves teaching poetry.
