Distinguished Lecture Series
The OLLI Distinguished Lecture Series consists of ten lectures. Most are held on Tuesday mornings at 10:00 a.m., once per month from September through June. The speakers are well-informed experts from town and gown who share their specialized knowledge in an engaging manner. Each lecture is just the beginning; a stimulating question-and-answer period follows most sessions, and frequently there is an opportunity to join the speaker at a dutch-treat lunch afterwards. The series costs $50 (only available in the fall). The speakers for 2016-2017 are: 9/13/16 The Future for Flint's Children by Mona Hanna-Attisha 10/11/16 Lies, Damn Lies and the Truth as we Know It: Acute and long-term consequences of concussion by Matthew Lorincz 11/15/16 What Happened Last Tuesday by Michael Traugott 12/13/16 Democracy Under Seige: Promoting People's Voices in our 2016 Democratic Process, by Jocelyn Benson 1/10/17 Anti-Semitism: What Has Changed Since 1945, by Victor Lieberman 2/14/17 The Importance of the Private Equity Markets, by David Brophy 3/14/17 Why Big History?
